Drivers Face Charges After Callers Report Erratic Driving to Farmington Hills Police

Two out-of-town motorists were stopped on local roads over the past week, after citizens reported their erratic driving to Farmington Hills Police.

A 32-year-old Walled Lake man may face charges of driving under the influence of narcotics, driving with a suspended license and possession of synthetic narcotics, after another motorist reported his vehicle was weaving in the area of 12 Mile and Farmington Road at around 4 p.m. on Nov. 28.

According to the report, the driver was stopped at Haggerty and Silverthorn, and officers who spoke with him noticed his slurred speech and pinpoint pupils. The man told police he was taking methadone to fight a Vicodin addiction; police found prescription pills in his vehicle and a trailer he was towing. The report indicated the man was also ticketed for no proof of insurance, no registration and missing/improper logo on his work truck. 

A 56-year-old Keego Harbor woman may face a charge of driving while under the influence of narcotics, after another motorist reported her vehicle was weaving on the road in the 14 Mile and Orchard Lake Road area. Officers responding to the scene spotted a two-vehicle accident and learned the woman's vehicle was involved. The report indicated the woman was unsteady on her feet while speaking with police, and she admitted to taking "an unknown medication." A check of her record showed a previous conviction for operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.
