Elder Living Construction Celebrates Design Center Grand Opening
The Greater Farmington Area Chamber welcomes the new business to Farmington Hills.
In a ceremony attended by Greater Farmington Area Chamber members and city officials, Elder Living Construction celebrated the grand opening of its Universal Design Center Tuesday.
The Center has been in the space at 27260 Haggerty in Farmington Hills for about five months. Partners Roger Burghdoff, Tim Saling and Barbara Baker work with a staff that includes craftspeople and an occupational therapist to specialize in barrier-free remodeling. The materials they use will fit into any home, but incorporate features that help seniors and people with disabilities live more comfortably.
Burghdoff demonstrated a stove cook top that can be lowered or raised, and showed a sturdy grab bar that doubles as a stylish toilet paper holder to make the bathroom a safer place.
