ELECTION RESULTS: Farmington Officials Will Get a Raise
Ballot measure for Farmington, Farmington Hills and Farmington schools all passed by wide margins.

The mayor of Farmington and members of the City Council will earn $3,000 a year, up from the current salary of $1,800 annually, after Tuesday’s election. A measure proposing the raise passed by 55 percent.
Three members were elected to the City Council. Sara Bowman and Steven Schneemann were elected to four-year terms, and Greg Crowley was elected to a two-year term.

Farmington’s school levy renewal also easily passed by a 68 percent margin.

With all precincts reporting, Kenneth D. Massey has been elected mayor of Farmington Hills with 68 percent of the vote. Richard Lerner, Theresa Rich and Randy Bruce were elected to the City Council by margins of 28 percent, 26 percent and 24 percent, respectively.
The public safety levy in Farmington Hills passed 83 percent.
The school levy was passing by a 68 percent margin with 23 of 28 precincts counted.
Only one precinct had reported in Farmington.

In Farmington, three people are running for three seats on the City Council. The top two vote-getters will be elected to four-year terms, while the third-highest vote getter will be elected to a two-year term.
The candidates are Sara Bowman, Greg Crowley and Steven Schneemann.
In Farmington, voters will be asked if the salary paid for the mayor and council members should be increased from $1,800 a year to $3,000 a year.
In Farmington Hills, Michael Bridges and Kenneth D. Massey both want to serve as mayor for the next two years.
Five people are running for three four-year terms on the City Council. They are Randy Bruce, Richard Lerner, William A. Miller III, Theresa Rich and Al Zaparackas.
Voters in Farmington Hills will also be asked to continue for 10 years a voter-authorized levy of 1.4767 mills for fire and police staffing and equipment.
Also, the Farmington Public School District is asking voters to renew the 13.5735 mills on residential property for the next 10 years to provide funds for operating expenses of the School District? If approved, this millage would raise an estimated $40,598,398 for the district in 2016.
