A Farmington Hills woman has joined the board of Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills.

Erin Reynolds, of Farmington Hills, and Maria Duey, of Bloomfield Hills, were recently named to the Board of Trustees, which has 22 members that oversee the school and all its activities.

Reynolds, incoming president of the school’s alumni association, is director of people analytics for Quicken Loans. She said she hopes to help Sacred Heart continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for both young women and men.

"School's not just about the classwork; it's the entire experience," she told Patch in an email. "Sacred Heart offers unique opportunities, such as Project Term or ongoing community service built into the school day, that you can't find elsewhere."

Reynolds said it is important for her to give back to the school "because I truly believe I wouldn't have had the opportunities I've been presented with, if it weren't for my experiences as a student at Sacred Heart. Due to the Sacred Heart education, I was more than prepared for college (both undergrad and grad school). Additionally, the confidence I gained during my years at Sacred Heart helped mold me into a confident and professional woman in the workplace."

Duey is vice president of Investor Relations and Communications for Masco Corporation. She was appointed Vice President of Investor Relations in 2005 and assumed responsibility for Corporate Communications in 2008. She also serves on Masco’s strategic planning team.

"It is an honor to be elected to the board of trustees," the Michigan State University graduate recently told Patch. "When I considered ways to give back to the school, my professional experience seemed a natural fit with the Board of Trustees position."

Duey, who also serves on the Board of Directors for the Detroit Institute of Arts,
said she hopes to add to the school’s mission of enabling students to live lives of faith, intellectual excellence, responsibility to self and community and personal integrity.

Both will be essential contributors to the voluntary board, that sets policy and focuses on fiduciary responsibility, said Sister Bridget Bearss, Head of School.

“I look forward to their continued involvement in strategic planning and outreach, and know they will make a difference in our community for years to come," she said.
