
U. S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz will be the featured speaker at the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) Activist Award Event honoring Michelle Passon at tonight.
The program will include a presentation of the JCRC 2012 Activist Award to Michelle Passon, founder of the first successful direct solicitation campaign for HAVEN, a shelter for battered women and children. Passon is past president of the Michigan Jewish AIDS Coalition (MJAC), where she co-founded MJAC’s Educating the Community about Homosexuality through Outreach program (ECHO) and was awarded its 2000 Susan Leemaster Leadership Award.
