Parents, students and staff are invited to attend a Farmington Public Schools forum tonight to give input on changing school day/hours.
The goals of the sessions are to:
- Help parents understand the key features of the State's new teacher and administrator evaluation legislation
- Identify considerations of parents and students related to potential changes to the school day and/or calendar; andIdentify ways parents and students would be willing to provide meaningful feedback that promotes staff growth and improves performance.
Two questions will be posed to the groups:

- FPS values teacher and administrator time together for collaborative work. Building time into the day/calendar for collaboration will impact the school day (early release, delayed start, etc…) and/or school calendar (start/end times, ending date, vacations, etc…). What considerations should the District keep in mind as they look at this?
- In what ways, as parents and students, would you be willing to provide meaningful feedback about the educational experiences that will help promote growth and improve performance in our learning community (surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, interviews, other ideas.)
