The Farmington Public Schools' 15th annual Senior Adult Breakfast draws hundreds of area senior adults who get an opportunity to speak with District representatives about current educational issues. Round table discussions include topics such as curriculum, educational services, technology, student successes and other topics participants wish to learn more about.
The breakfast program also includes student curriculum exhibits and performances by student musicians.
Another highlight of the breakfast is the announcement of the 2012 Senior Adult Extraordinaire award winner. The purpose of the award is to recognize, promote, and encourage the volunteer efforts of senior citizens in Farmington Public Schools. The honored senior citizen (age 60 and above) must volunteer in the District and contribute to the overall educational process. Past award winners include: Lincoln Avery, Leona Goetz, Michael Liebowitz, Demetra Mehas, Tina Mehas, Toula Mehas, Diane DeSousa, Virginia Starr, and Allen Whittemore.
Reservations for this special event are required and limited to the first 300 people. To make a reservation, please call School/Community Relations at 248-489-3349.
