Farmington Hills Police Investigating Incident Near School Bus Stop

Police have increased patrols at all bus stops and is working cooperatively with the school district to address safety concerns.

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI β€” Farmington Hills Police are investigating a "suspicious incident" that happened near a Farmington Hills school bus stop Monday.

Police said the 16-year-old student was approached by a stranger in a vehicle near a school bus stop in a subdivision near the southwest corner of Twelve Mile and Inkster roads between 3 and 3:05 p.m.

As the child walked away from the bus stop, a woman driving a car pulled alongside the student and said, "I’m one of your neighbors. Do you want a ride home," police said.

When the student declined the ride, the woman drove off, police said.

Police did not describe the woman and only described the vehicle as a dark gray sport utility vehicle.

Police have increased patrols at all bus stops and are working cooperatively with the Farmington Public School District to address safety concerns.
