Farmington Officers Sent to Check Suspicious Circumstances Make Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Farmington Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Detroit man faces charges related to outstanding warrants after Farmington Public Safety officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a vacant home at Cloverdale and Farmington Road on Dec. 6. 

According to the report, officers found three men dressed in black clothing at the home. A man sitting in a vehicle parked nearby said he worked for Detroit Property Preservation and was hired to take care of the house, which was in foreclosure. A check of the man's background showed outstanding warrants from Southfield, Redford and Detroit. 

Marijuana possession arrest

A 24-year-old Detroit woman faces charges of marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop at Grand River and Grove on Dec. 3. According to the report, officers stopped the woman's vehicle for traveling 40 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone. The woman told police her license was suspended; a check of her background showed 13 outstanding suspensions and three traffic-related warrants. A search of the vehicle turned up a small bag of marijuana, the report indicated.

Drunken driving arrest

A 55-year-old Farmington Hills woman faces a charge of drunken driving, following a traffic stop at Gill and Nine Mile Dec. 2. According to the report, an officer on patrol saw the woman's vehicle traveling slower than the posted speed limit and weaving on the road. The officer noticed an odor of intoxicants while talking with the driver. The report said a preliminary breath test showed her blood alcohol was .16, which is twice the .08 legal limit.
