Farmington Officials Unveil Rouge River Corridor Plan This Week
Residents will also be asked to give their opinions on the five-year recreation master plan at an open house this week.

FARMINGTON, MI – Details on the proposed Rouge River Corridor Project will be revealed at a public open house Thursday, Farmington city officials have announced.
The open house will be held from 6-9 p.m. in the Media Center at Farmington High School, 32000 Shiawassee St. City officials will also seek comments from the public on the five-year recreation master plan.
During the first hour of the session, officials will share details of the joint planning effort between the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills to create a comprehensive plan to revitalize the Rouge River Corridor.

Key efforts include a site design for a non-motorized pathway, as well as implementation strategies, funding opportunities and ideas on how the river can be used to support new economic development opportunities.

From 7-9 p.m., those attending will be asked to weigh in on updates to the recreation master plan.
In a September special meeting of the City Council to consider the plan update, Mayor William F. Galvin made public engagement a priority of the planning process and requested that “Farmington’s diverse population also be included in the public feedback phase of the project.”
At the same meeting, the city hired LSL Planning to provide expertise in public engagement and recreation planning.
