Farmington Public Safety Issues Warning About Floral Park Larcenies

Police are investigating a string of six thefts from cars on Violet and one stolen vehicle on Floral Street.

this morning issued a warning to residents in Floral Park subdivision about a recent string of crimes that include a stolen auto and thefts from vehicles.

According to the alert, sent via Nixle.com, the vehicle break-ins occurred on Violet, and the stolen vehicle was parked on Floral. All of the incidents happened at night, between June 19 and July 3. 

Investigators believe the thieves are local residents who are familiar with the area. The alert indicated that doors were unlocked on all but one of the vehicles; the suspects used force to slice open a plastic window cover to get into a Jeep. 

Evidence collected is being analyzed, and officers are stepping up patrols in the Floral Park subdivision. Residents are advised to lock car doors overnight, to remove all valuable items from vehicles and leave porch lights on overnight.
