Farmington Resident Finds Sweet Potatoes Stuffed in Truck's Exhaust Pipe

The following arrest information was supplied by the Farmington Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A resident on Vicary Lane called Aug. 21, after finding that someone had shoved sweet potatoes into the exhaust pipe of her son's pick-up truck, police said.

According to the report, the resident told police the incident happened between 10 p.m. Aug. 20 and 10 p.m. Aug. 21, while the truck was parked in front of the house. There was no damage to the vehicle, but it took the resident and her son more than an hour to remove the potatoes.

Rat Trap Theft

A resident on Floral told police someone took one of four rat traps placed in the southwest corner of her fenced-in back yard. According to the report, the theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Aug. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 21.

Police have no suspects.

Found bicycle

The owner of Farmington Bike Shop on Orchard Lake called police on Aug. 23 to turn over a bicycle that had been left behind the shop. According to the report, the maroon Schwinn Falcon BMX bike was in the alley for several days.

Warrant arrest

An officer who made a traffic stop in the area of Grand River and Nine Mile at around 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 22 spotted a traffic accident nearby and later arrested one of the drivers. According to the report, the officer learned the driver, a 31-year-old Detroit man, had a suspended license. A check of his background uncovered a half-dozen outstanding warrants. The man was taken into custody.
