Farmington Resident Reports Change, Jewelry, GPS Stolen from Vehicle

The following information was supplied by the Farmington Public Safety Department. Arrests and charges do not indicate a conviction.

A resident in the 36000 block of Smithfield called Farmington Public Safety on Jan. 19 to report the theft of items from her vehicle.

According to the report, the resident told police she parked her vehicle in a circle driveway in front of her home at 4 p.m. on Jan. 18 and may have left it unlocked. The next morning, she found items missing and scattered inside the car. Cash, rings, and iPhone charger and a GPS unit were taken, the report indicated. 

Marijuana possession charged

A Farmington man faces a charge of marijuana possession after a resident of an apartment complex on Grand River called police at around 3 a.m. Jan. 17 to report a suspicious vehicle parked and running in the parking lot.

According to the report, police found a 20-year-old Farmington man inside the vehicle and noticed the odor of burned marijuana as soon as he opened the window. The officer also spotted a marijuana cigarette in the ashtray. The report indicated the driver admitted to having a small bag of marijuana in his pocket. 

Marijuana found

The manager of Big Lots in Farmington Plaza Shopping Center on Grand River called police on Jan. 14, after finding a small baggie of marijuana in a shopping cart. According to the report, the manager did not know to whom it belonged.

Vehicle theft

A resident in the 22000 block of Floral Street called police Jan. 10 to report his black, 2002 Dodge Ram truck had been stolen. According to the report, the owner told police that he locked the vehicle, which also contained a number of tools. The report indicated that Detroit Police found the vehicle, with its ignition and steering column damaged, on Jan. 11.
