Flickinger Joins Farmington Hills Police Department

Recent police academy graduate will be assigned to the Patrol Division.

Farmington Hills, MI — A recent graduate Ferris State Police Academy described as an “outstanding recruit, problem solver and good communicator” has joined the Farmington Hills Police Department.

Officer Megan Flickinger took the oath of office in a swearing-in ceremony held Nov. 30 at the Farmington Hills Police Department headquarters. City Clerk Pam Smith administered the oath of office.

Before joining the police department, Flickinger completed a 176-hour internship at the Grand Blanc Township Police Department.

Flickinger has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from CS Mott Community College and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Ferris State University. A National Society of Collegiate Scholars awardee, she was named to the dean’s list during her time at both schools. Flickinger graduated from the Ferris State Police Academy in May of 2015.

Friends and co-workers described Flickinger as a “team player, responsible and trustworthy.”

“We are excited about her joining the department and we feel she will be a great addition,” Chief Chuck Nebus said in a news release.

Flickinger will be assigned to uniform patrol duties in the Patrol Division of the Department’s Operations Bureau.
