Harley-Davidson to Roar Into Old Sam's Club Space
The larger location could include a brewpub and gourmet market as part of plan to make dealership "a destination."

FARMINGTON HILLS, MI – Motor City Harley-Davidson is getting new digs in Farmington Hills.
The dealership said Monday that it would invest $8 million to fix up the old Sam’s Club store at 24800 Haggarty, which has been vacant since 2006, and move from the current location at 34900 Grand River, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Remodeling on the new location is expected to begin in April, and plans are to move into the new facilities in August. The dealership may open a brewpub and gourmet market in the 106,000-square-foot space, which is about double the size the of the current location, a former Acura dealership.
Dealership general manager Tom Celani wants to create a destination for Harley aficionados with both indoor and outdoor spots for gatherings.

About 20 new employees will be hired with the move to a larger space, Celani said, bringing Motor City Harley-Davidson’s total employment to about 70 when the remodeling is complete.
