Local Businesses Now Have Access to AT&T Business Fiber

Farmington and Farmington Hills businesses now have an opportunity for faster Internet speeds over AT&T Business Fiber. The download and upload speeds are up to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) in AT&T Fiber Ready buildings.

This means:

· Download 8,000 word processing documents in 1 second

· Download a 2 hour high definition video in 36 seconds

· Backup/restore 1 terabyte hard drive in 2.5 hours

“Our business customers have told us they need fast and reliable network solutions to stay connected and competitive,” said Jim Murray, president of AT&T Michigan. “The new speeds available with AT&T Business Fiber provide just that. And customers can complement their high-speed Internet with our network security options to help protect their business-critical information.”

We currently have around 1,000 multi-tenant office buildings that are live with AT&T Business Fiber in Michigan. We continue to build out as demand requires. New buildings are constructed, and old buildings are retrofitted every day throughout the country, at a massive scale. In fact, according to the US Census Bureau, the seasonally adjusted annual value of private, nonresidential construction in the US in 2015 was $394.4 billion. Our goal is to work with building owners and property managers to strive to satisfy the demand for fiber services of the tenants of that construction.

AT&T invested nearly $1.65 billion in its Michigan area wireless and wireline networks from 2013 through 2015.
