FARMINGTON, MI – Farmington Mayor Bill Galvin quelled rumors on social media that the Farmers & Artisans Market was about to undergo scheduling and other changes during a recent city council meeting.

Galvin said he wanted to “clear the air” about the controversy and told the standing-room-only crowd there are no changes planned for the market, which runs from 9 a.m-2 p.m. on Saturdays from May to November, The Farmington Observer reports.

Vendor Scott Robertello of Kapnick Orchards was among about a dozen people who spoke passionately about the market and the current scheduling.

“What we want as vendors is a commitment that the market will be there on Saturday until the end of time,” Robertello said. “You have a wonderful thing here in Farmington.”
