Michigan Opera Theatre Loves Farmington Hills

Performers return to The Farmington Players Barn on Dec. 8 with holiday show.

The folks at Michigan Opera Theatre can't get enough of Farmington Hills.

For the past six years, MOT has performed an annual holiday show at the . The concerts are presented by the as part of its Cultural Arts Concert Series. 

Tickets are still available – but going fast – for this year's all-new show, , will be presented Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Mark Vondrak, associate director of Community Programs for MOT, said the organization wouldn't miss the opportunity to perform in Farmington Hills. "We have a great symbiotic relationship with the Cultural Arts division," Vondrak said.  "We love to have this kind of partnership with a community."

Vondrak is also one of the MOT performers featured in the show. He looks forward to singing at the Players Barn each year. "The Barn is a great space," he said. "It's very unique, very intimate. It's an excellent place to perform."

The evening of music and fun will begin with selections by the Farmington Youth Choir. MOT performers Maria Cimarelli, Betsy Bronson, Karl Schmidt and Vondrak will then take the stage with a mix of classic and contemporary holiday songs. Several special guests will make appearances, with one reciting readings from humorist Erma Bombeck. Dancers from Livonia Churchill High School will perform and Santa will make an appearance.

The concerts are presented through a partnership with the . 

"Our concert series affords a unique opportunity for our audiences to see some fantastic performers up close and personal, right here in our own community, for very affordable ticket prices," said Nancy Coumoundouros, Farmington Hills Cultural Arts supervisor. 

Previous shows have drawn audiences of all ages and offered something for every taste. These MOT holiday concerts typically sell out.
