Neighborhood Shop: The Print House Offers a One-Stop Shop for Businesses

The Farmington Hills-based company has operated in the community since 1975.

As the name implies, is a one-stop shop for all your printing needs—large and small. Owned by Ken Manko and Barry Melamed, the shop has been a part of the Farmington Hills community since 1975.

From stationery and business cards to newsletters and full-color brochures, the Print House is a place for those looking to enhance their business image, or create a new identity altogether.

“Our entire operation is geared to making your business look professional through quality printed materials and through creative expertise,” Melamed said.

The duo opened the Print House after working for newspapers as advertising department managers.

“We wanted to use our advertising and marketing skills for businesses that didn’t need the services of advertising agencies,” said Melamed.

From a small basement in an office building with just one small offset press, to now a 7,200-square-foot print and mail facility with five presses located on 23014 Commerce Drive in Farmington Hills, the shop has expanded to offer everything from graphic design and website design services to printing, direct mail, special advertising and promotional products and much more.

“We are a one-stop shopping experience from concept to completion,” said Melamed, adding The Print House offers small to medium-sized, locally owned businesses free marketing expertise.

“Business owners can’t expect to sustain and grow without being willing to make an investment in advertising and promotion,” said Melamed. “Word of mouth creates new customers and clients, but much too slowly. You can’t rely on your existing customer base, because some of those customers leave for a variety of reasons.”

The Print House is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information, call 248-473-1414 or visit theprinthouse.com
