Oakland County Man Hit, Killed On Freeway While Putting Gas In Car: Police
A Farmington Hills man was struck and killed Sunday morning on a freeway in Oakland County while putting gas in his car, police said.
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A Farmington Hills man was struck and killed Sunday morning on a freeway in Oakland County while putting gas in his car, Michigan State Police said.
State troopers said the 41-year-old man's vehicle ran out of gas at 2 a.m. in the right lane of the ramp from northbound Interstate 75 to 8 Mile Road, Michigan State Police said.
The man was putting gas into his car with a gas canister when another driver smashed into him and his stalled car on the freeway ramp, police said. Troopers said he was killed in the crash.

The driver who struck the man stayed at the scene, and investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, police said.
Officials were still investigating the crash.
