Oakland County Woman Injured In Detroit Freeway Shooting: Police
The shooting happened on the Southfield Freeway near the Interstate 96 ramp Thursday morning, according to Michigan State Police.

DETROIT — An Oakland County woman was injured in a Thursday morning Detroit freeway shooting, according to Michigan State Police.
A 32-year-old Livonia man was driving north on the Southfield Freeway near the Interstate 96 ramp at 2:15 a.m. when another car pulled up next to him and someone inside fired a shot, according to Michigan State Police.
The round hit the Livonia man's front passenger door and struck a 27-year-old Farmington woman in the right thigh as she was sitting in the passenger's seat, according to Michigan State Police.

The woman was not seriously injured in the shooting, as the round did not penetrate her skin, according to Michigan State Police.
"We are extremely fortunate that the passenger was not seriously hurt in this incident," Michigan State Police Lt. Mike Shaw said.

Troopers were still investigating the shooting.
