October Brings 2 Historical Walks To The City Of Farmington

October brings two historical walks to the City of Farmington

On Sunday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m., local historian Brian Golden will conduct a historic walking tour of downtown Farmington Township, Quakerisms, “Farmington Firsts”, “the mass transit system” of the time, and other interesting points. The tour begins and ends at the Governor Warner Mansion.

On Sunday, Oct. 24, Brian will conduct tours of Quaker Cemetery – there will be a tour at 2 p.m. and another at 4 p.m. The tour will cover early beginnings of Farmington Township, explore the Power family along with other familiar families of the community, as well as take a closer look at grave markers and the symbols on them. This tour will meet at the cemetery.

Both events are sponsored by the Governor Warner Mansion. Tickets for each event are $20 per person and can be purchased at Farmington City Hall – 23600 Liberty Street, 248-474-5500, x2225.
