Officials Save Residents From Farmington Hills Condominium Fire
Officials moved quickly through the condominium's three floors to awaken and evacuate residents, officials said.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI — Fire and police officials rescued numerous residents from a blaze at a three-story Farmington Hills condominium early Sunday morning, officials said.
Officials found the third floor at the Country Glen Condos, located at 30535 Fourteen Mile Road, fully engulfed in flames at 5:30 a.m Sunday morning.
Officials moved quickly on all three floors inside the building to awaken and evacuate residents, officials said.

Some officers assisted several senior citizens who struggled moving through the smoke-filled hallways, officials said.
Several officers also went back into the building to rescue a family dog left behind in one of the rooms, officials said.

Numerous officers were treated for smoke inhalation but did not require additional medical help, officials said.
No residents of the three-story building were injured in the fire, officials said.
"The courage displayed by these police officers and firefighters highlights their professionalism and underscores the dangers they face in the line of duty," Farmington Hills Police Chief Jeff King said.
Body cam footage showed numerous officers escorting residents from their units through the condominium's hallways and down the stairs.
"Police, your building is on fire, you’ve got to get out," one officer yelled as heavy smoke began filling the top floor. "If you can hear me, come to my voice and to my light."
Firefighters had the blaze under control roughly an hour later and remained on scene for several more hours, officials said.
A few condominium units were damaged in the blaze while most of the building sustained smoke and water damage, officials said.
Investigators were still trying to determine what sparked the blaze, but they ruled out arson, officials said.
