Oh, You Animal: Celebrate Valentine's Day in the Wild

The Farmington Hills Nature Center is offering a program for adults on the mating habits of nocturnal animals – and how humans might relate.

Nothing caterwauls “happy Valentine’s Day” like a stroll by the soft glow of candlelight in Heritage Park as a naturalist shares stories about the courtship behaviors of the park’s nocturnal animals – and what you may have in common with them in your own rituals.

The unique Valentine’s Day celebration, “Stroll with Your Sweetheart,” will take place on from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb.14, at the Nature City. Hot drinks and sweet treats will be available at the Nature Center until 7 p.m. There will also be an opportunity to win prizes for your sweetie!

Participants should meet at the Farmington Hills Nature Center and be dressed for the weather with sturdy shoes; a majority of this program will be held outdoors. Stroll with Your Sweetheart is for adults 18 and older

The cost is $5 per person.

Pre-registration is strongly recommended, as only a limited number of spots will be available the night of the walk. Please register at the Costick Center or online.
