Orchard Lake Artist Turns Farmington Festival 'Lemons' into 'Lemonade'
Artists gather at Ginger's Cafe in Farmington to celebrate Suzy Brickner-Friedman's art work, which uses shards of ceramics shattered in a gust of wind during the festival.
A special lunch held Friday at Ginger's Cafe & Gourmet Shoppe in Farmington was a "lemons to lemonade" celebration.
The story began during Art on the Grand, where artists displayed their lovely ceramic creations. Unfortunately, a spate of bad weather hit Grand River, and strong winds blew over a display, shattering those creations. The idea came to gather broken pieces and ask Orchard Lake artist Suzy Brickner Friedman to take the remains and re-purpose them.
On Friday, representatives from the Farmington Downtown Development Authority, Farmington Community Arts Council, along with Friedman and one of the Farmington/Farmington Hills artists, Eric Cooper, gathered for a heart-warming lunch, and to present the repurposed pieces.

Farmington Hills resident Linda Pudlik created a beautiful "Lemons to Lemonade" centerpiece that was presented to Friedman for her kindness and generosity.
