Over the past two weeks many good things have occurred in Farmington, and I would like to highlight one of them for you today, from the Mayor’s perspective. On Memorial Day, Farmington hosted a Memorial Day Parade and Memorial Event managed by American Legion Post 346 and chaired by former state representative Rocky Raczkowski. As you know, Memorial Day is specifically for the remembrance of our fallen and injured military service personnel. This day is for Americans to remember and honor those who have served and who do serve in our military. I find it to be a special honor to walk in the parade and join the presentation of the memorial wreath as one of our community’s representatives, to be there on your behalf. Particularly outstanding is the turnout for this parade, a credit to our community’s respect and honor for those who have and are serving in our military branches. All along the Grand River parade route were cheering families and friends remembering, honoring and offering their respect. Thanks and congratulations to Post 346 for helping us remember. And let us keep in mind that it is our duty to remember every day.
