Police Chase Stolen Camaros Through Oakland County, 9 Arrested: Cops
Michigan State Police said the vehicles were stolen from an auto plant in Lansing.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Nine people were arrested Monday morning after leading police on a chase in stolen Chevy Camaros that were taken from an auto plant in Lansing, Michigan State Police said.
State troopers said they began chasing the stolen Camaros along eastbound Interstate 96 in Livingston County on Monday morning around 1 a.m. when they split up into two groups of two to four cars each.
One group crashed on Interstate 96 near Kensington Road after troopers used road spikes to stop at least one car, officials said. After crashing, troopers said the car thieves tried running away on foot, but were ultimately captured by officers.

The other group of vehicles exited Interstate 96 at Grand River Avenue and northbound Michigan 5 in Farmington Hills, evading troopers, officials said.
Overall, nine people were arrested in the pursuit along the freeway from Kensington Road to Michigan 5, through Lyon, Wixom, Novi and Farmington Hills, officials said. There were no injuries during the police chase or arrest, officials said.

State troopers said the car thieves face numerous felonies, including fleeing and eluding officers and receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle worth $20,000 or more.
Police did not release the names of the car thieves, but said they were all ages between 20 and 24. Eight of the nine were from the metro Detroit area and the other one was from Saginaw. They were placed in the Lansing City Jail.
All together, the five stolen Camaros troopers recovered were worth more $375,000, officials said.
