Police stopped Rowland on westbound I-96 near Halstead Road for lane use violations and speeding, officials said.
Rowland was immediately verbally abusive and refused to provide her driver's license, police said.
As the officer attempted to identify her from his car, Rowland began approaching the officer's car, police said.
When the officer told Rowland to return to her car, she refused and the officer told Rowland to put her hands behind her back, police said.
Rowland then ran away into a grass median, and a struggle ensued between Rowland and the officer, which resulted in Rowland being placed in custody, police said.
Police found a set of brass knuckles in Rowland's car, and attempted to secure her in the police car, police said.
Rowland then kicked one of the officers in forehead and continued kicking for several minutes, police said.
Police then transported her into an ambulance, where she kicked another officer in the mouth and a paramedic in the forehead, before she was taken to Oakland County jail, officials said.
