The film’s main focus is on the deaths of Tyler Long and Ty Smalley, victims of bullying who took their own lives. The film greatly describes in detail how the average American school kid can’t defend himself against ridicule.
Tyler’s Thoughts…I watched the preview to this movie online the night before the day I went to go and see it, As I watched the preview I thought to myself “I already know I’m going to cry when I go and see this movie tomorrow.” So, I continued to watch the movie preview…I began to cry…:(
I went to go see this movie with my good friend Ashley (YDS Bullying Reporter) on Tuesday, April 10th in Birmingham, Michigan. We had the opportunity to see this movie in the Rated R version. This movie is very, very, very sad but it gives you a very POWERFUL message that something NEEDS and HAS to be done about bullying before it is too late. This movie really raises awareness to students, staff and parents that bullying is an epidemic and at a very high level, especially with all of the social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, ect. I feel that this movie should HAVE to be shown in all schools across the United States and America. If teachers, students, victims of bullying or even bullies themselves see this movie it will totally change their life around. We can’t just sit around and let this epidemic continue. One too many are killing themselves because of the way they are treated – whether it be at school or outside of school. When you walk in your school doors you are suppose to feel safe and secure and protected, many people will admit that they don’t feel safe at their school. Schools should be forced to take action against ANY FORMS OF BULLYING and not just avoid bullying and let it go. I definitely recommend everybody to go and see this movie and be sure to bring tissue because you will probably end up crying your eyes out like I did.
We are inviting all of you to STAND together and help end bullying across the world. Let us know what your thoughts are on this movie by commenting with your thoughts and opinion. Please be appropriate with your comments otherwise they will be deleted.
