Today was blue day in class, which is the day the children wear blue and bring in a blue picture. We were hoping to find a picture of the TARDIS because we are uber nerds and like Lilah to be, as well. She really does like Doctor Who alot and gets to play with daddy's sonic screwdriver (10th Doctor edition) if she is not feeling well or, say, getting a haircut for the first time. Personally, I think shows like Doctor Who (with the exception of a few really scary episodes) are great for her because they fuel her imagination and teach that being scared is okay from time to time.
We had to borrow a friend's car today because the truck wouldn't start (it's very tempermental about the weather) and so I left the house with one of those feelings in my gut. One of those feelings that goes "Hey buddy, you forgot something." I saw that I had not forgotten Lilah so I figured whatever it could possibly be that I forgot was no big deal. It was her backpack. With her blue picture and extra pull up, which she hasn't needed, but I like to be safe. Luckily, one of the other parent's had brought extras and one was a blue jay. Lilah's original picture was going to be the twitter bird so, when it really comes down to it, she upgraded.
There was also a very special guest in the class today - our own favorite Monster at the End of This Book, Grover! Lilah has adored Grover ever since I found her a copy of The Monster at the End of this Book at a Salvation Army (or was it a Saint Vinnie's?) when we were living in Ishpeming. Grover was being a goofball as he always is and Lilah was loving it. By the way, the monster at the end of this blog is just me - cuddly, furry, loveable Dano. Another thing Lilah got to do today was make a picture on a round piece of paper that they are going to send off to somewhere in Texas to be made into a plate! Who knew Texas was capable of doing something useful like making plates? I thought they were just there to produce cowboys and oil. So I'm really excited about that (the plate - not the cowboys and oil.)

The only other thing is tomorrow night is the DACP silent auction at the church where the school is located. I believe it starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are 15 dollars at the door. So that will be going on and people should come and bid on things, etc.
