Ride Like the Wind!

What little I could get out of Lilah this week.

This week, aside from school, has been mostly dedicated to teaching Lilah to pedal a trike.  We started with a bike, but it really wasn't working very well because she would just move her feet back and forth, causing the brake to engage usually.  Lilah's Papa had the good idea, though, of getting her a trike to ride on so that, even when she pedaled backwards, she would still be going somewhere.  Allison e-mailed around and we found one of the parents from Lilah's class who was willing to let us borrow not one, but two, different trikes while other parents were able to alleviate Allison's stress about Lilah not being able to pedal yet (even though it's a 4 year old thing and she's only been 4 for a month.)  Each nice day, we're taking some time to get Lilah some practice on the trike and it may just be a matter of time more than anything else.

We've been trying to squeeze Lilah for information about preschool all week because neither of us were in the classroom, but it hasn't been working out so well.  So far, all we know is she made a special gift for mother's day, ate grapes, and played at the park.  There is proof of the park and the special gift, but not so much of the grapes.

At the park, one of the parents decided to take a class photo.  Two of them are hilarious when it comes to Lilah.  In one, you just see a little blonde hair bun floating off in the distance because my child is prone to going walkabout while in the next, she is visibly scowling because obviousliy someone brought her back to the proceedings without her consent.

Lilah is now informing me that she played with shaving cream at the blue table and washed up in the bucket afterwards.  The shaving cream was an interesting one to me as someone who uses the stuff for utilitarian purposes, I really have never thought about how fun it would be to play with since it's all foamy and moldable.

Maybe next week, I'll get more information out of her because I'm volunteering on Tuesday.
