What Do You LOVE About Ferndale? Tell ME!

What do former and current residents of Ferndale LOVE about Ferndale? Read this article to find out!

Ferndale is such an AMAZING place! Whether you've lived here forever or if you just moved in the city of Ferndale is an excellent choice!

Have you ever wondered what makes Ferndale, FERNDALE? I asked several Ferndale residents and former Ferndale residents what they loved or use to love about Ferndale and here's what they had to say:

Donna Simmons a member of the Memories of Ferndale Michigan Facebook group said: "I grew up on both sides of Hilton and what I loved about growing up then was that life was simpler we could play without worrying about being kidnapped...we could go for at least a mile trick or treating without having to check our candy."

Donna also said: "We could play in the streets...didn't have to worry about our neighbors...we called our friends out by standing at their door and yelled their name...we passed notes instead of text msg...Ferndale was the best place I lived."

Patricia Carlton Cissell, another member of the Memories of Ferndale Michigan Facebook group said: "As a lifelong resident of 53 years, I love the people! We had the same families for years and years and years on the various blocks, and we knew everyone. Automatic friendship for everyone, adults and kids alike!!!!"

Larry Kachadourian said that he remembered "The fish tank at McDonalds." My mom always tells me about how she wishes the fish tank at McDonalds were still there!

Becky Groff Riedel said: "I loved the baked goods at Hagelstein's Bakery. Oh and the soda fountain at Cunningham's was great, too."

Gordon Matson said: "As a kid I always would like to walk in that small door of the shoe store...cant remember the name but the door always intrigued me!!"
