Champion for Children/Families To Speak
Maura Corrigan to address local Republicans September 15 at Grosse Pointe War Memorial
Maura D. Corrigan, a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, former Michigan Supreme Court Justice and director of Michigan Department of Human Services, will address the Eastside Republican Club Forum at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 15.
The event will be held at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial located at 32 Lake Shore Road in Grosse Pointe Farms.
“Maura Corrigan is a champion for children and families,” said club chairman Ken Chadwell.

“The Forum is open to the public at no charge, so we invite anyone interested in the welfare of children to attend,” he added.
At the American Enterprise Institute, Corrigan evaluates child welfare programs, including child support, food assistance and disability programs. In addition to research and writing, she works with state human services leaders to advise them of federal policy developments and potential social welfare reforms.

She also educates federal policymakers about promising state-level social services innovations.
Corrigan is a former chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court and was second in command at the U.S. Attorney’s Office before taking the bench.
Before joining AEI, after a distinguished legal career, she served as director of the Michigan Department of Human Services, where she oversaw public assistance programs for low-income and vulnerable families and children in Michigan.
