1. City of Lansing, Notice of Public Hearing, Sept. 14, 2026, Re: approval of Brownfield Plan #92 – 416 N. Cedar St. Redevelopment … (lansingcitypulse.com) — Lansing residents are invited to weigh in on a proposed Brownfield Plan for redeveloping 416 N. Cedar Street at a City Council public hearing on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The plan would let the Lansing Brownfield Redevelopment Authority capture future tax increases from the improved property to reimburse eligible redevelopment costs, and written comments are also being accepted in advance.
   

2. H. Allen and Ann Tucker Lecture (msu.edu) — Lansing residents interested in agriculture and sustainability can attend the 17th annual H. Allen and Ann Tucker Lecture on October 8 at MSU's Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory on Beaumont Road. The event features National Milk Producers Federation sustainability leader Nicole Ayache, includes lunch, offers shuttle service from campus locations, and provides a Zoom livestream option with advance registration.
   

3. Families gather at Michigan State for remembrance walk (fox47news.com) — Families gathered at Michigan State University's Jenison Fieldhouse in East Lansing for the fourth annual Student Memorial Tribute Trees Walk, honoring former students who have died. Participants visited 13 dedicated trees, reading names, laying roses, and pausing for silence. The event, created after the 2023 campus shooting, offers a reflective space for the broader Lansing-area community to remember lost students.
   

4. SUV strikes two children on bikes, killing 12-year-old boy and injuring his sister (wlns.com) — State police from the Lansing Post are investigating a tragic crash in Leroy Township where a 12-year-old Williamston boy was killed and his 13-year-old sister critically injured after an SUV struck them as they rode their bikes. Grand River Avenue was closed for hours, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Lansing Post as they prepare findings for the Ingham County prosecutor.
