Police Clear Accident at 22 Mile and Heydenreich

The intersection at Heydenreich and 22 Mile roads is open again following an accident earlier this afternoon.

The accident, which occurred at approximately 2 p.m., briefly shut down Heydenreich Road's right turn lane to 22 Mile Road.

Two cars were severely damaged and the driver and passenger of one vehicle taken from the scene in an ambulance.

Capt. Liz Darga of the Macomb County Sheriff's Office said the victims injuries were minor and both are expected to make a quick recovery.

The scene has now been cleared and all lanes re-opened.
