Bruce Township Car Accident Kills 1, Injures 3

The head-on collision killed a 21-year-old Bruce Township man and injured two 25-year-old Washington Township men and one 21-year-old Macomb Township woman.

A 21-year-old Bruce Township man is dead and three others injured following an accident early Tuesday morning on Hipp Road in Bruce Township north of 36 Mile Road.

The victim has been identified as Alexander Gentry. According to police, Gentry was a front-seat passenger in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee driven by a 25-year-old Washington Township man. Preliminary investigation reveals that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Hipp Rd when it left the roadway and struck a tree head-on at approximately 12:05 a.m.

The driver and two of the passengers, a 25-year-old Washington Township man and 21-year-old Macomb Township woman, were transported to Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center. The Macomb Township woman was later transferred to Detroit Receiving Hospital. Gentry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said detectivies will continue to investigate, but it is believed alcohol may have been a factor. It is unknown if all occupants were wearing seatbelts.
