Driver Faces 'Super-Drunk' Charges After Registering .28 BAC
Man registers blood-alcohol content higher than .17 percent needed to qualify for increased penalties.

A man is facing increased charges under Michigan's "super drunk" law after being pulled over early Thanksgiving morning and registering a blood-alcohol content higher than the .17 percent needed to qualify for the enhanced charge, according to Macomb County Sheriff's officials.
According to the department, a deputy was on special patrol early Thanksgiving morning when he observed a white GMC Yukon swerving across traffic lanes on eastbound Interstate 94 in Harrison Township. The driver exited the freeway and was stopped at Hall Road and Gratiot in Macomb Township.
According to Sheriff's officials, the man showed clear signs of intoxication and was subsequently arrested and taken to Macomb County Jail, where he registered a .28 percent BAC, more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent and well above the .17 percent minimum to be susceptible to Michigan's "super drunk" charge.
