Lorenzo Center Speaker Series Presents Paul Boyer

The Lorenzo Cultural Center's latest exhibit is The 1950s: Anxiety and Affluence in the Atomic Age. Highlights of the series include a chance to hear renowned historians and authors lecture on the era. Today's topic is The 1950s: American Life in the Shadow of the Bomb. Paul Boyer, Ph.D., cultural and intellectual historian, will examine many aspects of the decade, from President Eisenhower to affluence of the times to the emergence of television -- all under the shadow of the Cold War and fear of the atomic bomb.

Cost is $15 to hear Boyer (or $5 seniors/students/military); or $20 for the Meet & Greet and presentation (starting at 5:30 pm). Or you can buy the entire package for $60 to hear all four slated speakers (Boyer; David M. Oshinsky, March 31, polio; Haynes Johnson, April 14, McCarthyism; and Susan Eisenhower, May 4, Eisenhower and the Cold War) and attend Meet & Greet events.
