Marine Hero to Speak at Lakepointe Church

The public is invited to hear one man's story of tragedy, faith and perseverance at a special presentation Sunday, Nov. 20, at Lakepointe Church.

Tim Lee, the son of a Baptist minister, used to protest all ordained authority: in the home, the church, and the school in his hometown of McLeansboro, Ill.

To escape, Lee joined the Marine Corps in 1969, and was sent to serve in southeast Asia. In March of 1971, he lost both legs in a landmine explosion after being apprehended by the Hand of God along an abandoned grassy trail in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, now forced to rely on a wheelchair.

The experience may have taken his legs, but it didn't take his faith. Lee will talk about his journey the morning of the 20th.

Coffee and refreshments will be served at this event, free and open to the public.
