Felony Charges Expected Against Macomb Man for Clinton Township Hit and Run

A 38-year-old Macomb Township man is in police custody following a hit and run incident that seriously injured a 19-year-old woman and 20-year-old man Nov. 11.

 

 

Police said Saturday they are investigating a hit and run incident that seriously injured a 19-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man Friday night.

Felony charges are expected to be filed against a 38-year-old man who is in police custody.

Police said the two victims, Clinton Township residents, were hit by a pick up truck around 7 p.m. Friday as they attempted to cross 15 Mile Road, east of Griswald Street in Clinton Township. According to witnesses the suspect did not brake or stop at the scene.

The victims were taken to Mt. Clemens Regional Hospital where the 19-year-old was in extreme critical condition with head trauma and the 20-year-old was in serious, but stable condition.

An eyewitness followed the suspect and got the plate number and a description of the vehicle. Police arrested the suspect, a Macomb Township man, within hours of the incident.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor for the driver, police said.
