• human trafficking — Michigan Massage Parlor Owner Sentenced to 20 Years (koreadaily.com) — Macomb County's circuit court has sentenced a massage parlor owner to up to 20 years in prison for running a human trafficking ring that exploited Korean and Chinese women in St. Clair Shores and Sterling Heights. The case, one of Michigan's larger forced-prostitution busts, followed coordinated raids across Wayne and Macomb counties that rescued several victims.
   

• Center Line man gets decades in prison for hotel murder (mlive.com) — A Macomb County judge has sentenced a 52-year-old Center Line man to 20–35 years in prison, plus two years for a firearm charge, for a 2025 hotel shooting in Sterling Heights. Prosecutors say he fled and barricaded himself at home before surrendering, and he must now pay restitution and avoid contact with the victim's family.
