Residents Encouraged to Clear Snow Around Fire Hydrants

Snow-covered fire hydrants make it difficult for firefighters to quickly supply water for a fire.

In light of recent snowfalls, the asks residents and businesses to keep their neighborhood fire hydrants shoveled and easily accessible.

When streets and driveways are plowed, excess snow can cover neighborhood fire hydrants and obscure them from view.

"We would ask all the residents to keep the fire hydrants clean and accessible in front of their homes and business to help speed up our response and suppress the fire in the event that there is one," said Fire Chief Robert Phillips.
