Schornak Vaults to Title, Cougars Move on in Tourney

It’s playoff time.

It’s title time.

It’s the best time of the year for high school sports fans,

We’re going to start by taking a quick peek backward to see just how the baseball and softball teams in your community fared this past week, then we’ll give our weekly shouts-out to those squads who turned in incredible performances in the postseason.

First of all, we have to give a big round of applause to who her way to a state championship. 

I can’t imagine doing it, which makes us here at Pick of the Week even more impressed–congrats Jennifer.

On the diamond, baseball team captured a district crown with a narrow, 1-0, victory over Anchor Bay in the title game. 

Meanwhile, was bounced from the tourney in the district round, falling to Dakota, 2-0.

The softball squad from Dakota fell to the Lady Tars after advancing to the district final, while North’s softball team bowed out of the tourney thanks to the Lady Cougars in the district semifinals.

Both North and Dakota were eliminated from the state soccer tournament in pre-district action May 31, the , while Dakota was ousted by Romeo.
