Search On for Suspect in Washington Township Bank Robbery

Macomb County Sheriff's detectives are searching for a white male, around 5 feet 7 inches tall, believed to be driving a teal colored Pontiac Sunfire. The man is suspected of robbing the Best Bank within the Kroger on 30 Mile Road.

Macomb County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a suspect in the robbery that occurred earlier Tuesday at the Best Bank located inside the Kroger at Van Dyke and 30 Mile Road in Washington Township.

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham reports that at approximately 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, a white male entered the bank and handed the teller a note requesting cash and implying that he had a weapon.

No weapon was seen, but an undisclosed amount of money was given to the suspect, who then fled the store and was seen entering a teal colored Pontiac Sunfire headed eastbound on 30 Mile Road, according to police.

Sheriff's detectives are working with bank security to obtain a video of the suspect, but have described him as being a white male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds, wearing tan pants and a white baseball hat.
