Alleged Stars & Stripes Shooter to Face Felony Assault, Armed Robbery and Firearm Charges
Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham has identified Demitrus Marcellas Ludaway as the suspect who shot a Detroit man in the leg Friday at the Mount Clemens Stars & Stripes Festival.

The 18-year-old Warren man accused of shooting a Detroit resident at the Mount Clemens Stars & Stripes Festival Friday will face multiple felony charges this week, police say.
Demitrus Marcellas Ludaway is facing charges of assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and felony firearm, according to police. He is currently being held in the Macomb County Jail on a $75,000 cash/surety bond and is expected to be arraigned Monday in 41B District Court in Clinton Township.
As some 50,000 people left the festival's fireworks display around 10:35 p.m. Friday, several eyewitnesses say they saw Ludaway shoot a 19-year-old Detroit man in the leg in the area of North Main Street and Market, Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said.

Sheriff's deputies patrolling the festival quickly arrested Ludaway and the victim was taken to McLaren Medical Center to be treated for a gun shot wound to the leg. Wickersham said he is expected to make a full recovery.
The victim and two witnesses to the shooting have positively identified Ludaway as the shooter and deputies found the weapon, a .38 Caliber Colt revolver, near the scene of the shooting. Police say the Colt revolver was never registered.
Ludaway has no previous criminal history.
