Tons O' Trucks Rolls into St. John Medical Center Saturday for 13th Year

See more than 60 trucks of all shapes, sizes and uses Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the St. John Medical Center on 23 Mile Road.

Fasten your seat belts, Macomb. Tons O’ Trucks and Wheeled Wonders returns to Macomb Township this weekend for the 13th year.

The premiere summer event of the township’s parks and recreation department, Tons O’ Trucks features more than 60 vehicles and typically draws more than 6,000 people.

This year’s event takes place Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the on 23 Mile Road.

The stars of the show, which include fire trucks, monster trucks, race cars and a Zamboni this year, can be found in the St. John parking lot. Most are open for the exploring and climbing pleasure of the event’s younger guests.

Some parking is available at St. John, but an overflow lot with shuttles to the event is available at the former Nachi Building, west of St. John on 23 Mile.

The event is free for everyone and families can enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment beside the trucks themselves. These activities include:

  • Balloon artists and face painters
  • Kiddie rides and inflatables
  • Concessions and giveaways
  • Fun, health-related activities
  • Strolling entertainment

This event kicks off the parks and recreation department's summer series of family-friendly events, which include Rosco Picnics and Sizzlin' Summer concerts at .
