Where's the Best Place to Pucker Up with A Romantic Movie? Michigan, Bay-Bee

It’s not over for “The Notebook,” which Redbox users say is the most romantic movie of all-time.

Pucker up, Michigan.

You’re the most romantic state in the nation.

That’s according to Redbox, based on the number of romantic movies rented in 2014 at its 35,000 self-service DVD kiosks across the country, CNN Money reports. Some 8.700 Redbox users were polled.

Michigan had two mentions in the most-romantic cities – No. 2 Lansing and No. 8 Grand Rapids-Kalamazoo – on the Midwest-heavy list that revealed where people are most likely love to cuddle up and watch Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in “The Notebook,” which Redbox users called the “most romantic movie of all time.”

“Titanic” and “Pretty Woman” came in as No. 2 and No. 3 as the most-rented movies last year.

The most romantic states in the country are clustered in the Midwest, with Wisconsin coming in as No. 2 on the list. Iowa, South Dakota, Indiana and Ohio were also in the Top 10.

Could it be because they’re all in the Snow Belt? That doesn’t explain Alabama and Louisiana, where there are also enough romance fans for their states to make the list.

They’re sure not watching those movies in arid Midland, TX, the least romantic city, or woodsy Oregon, the least-romantic state, or in But here in Michigan, movie watchers can’t get enough of dreamy Channing Tatum and Jennifer Lawrence.
