Novi Marching Band Competes in Flight I State Championships Saturday
The band took 11th place in the Michigan Competing Band Association at Ford Field in Detroit.
Novi High School finished in 11th place in Flight I of the 2011 Michigan Competing Band Association (MCBA) Championships, which brought 48 bands from across Michigan to Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday.
Bands were divided into four flights, with each flight containing 12 performances. An awards ceremony took place after each flight and each band received either a plaque or a trophy, depending on their place.
Trophies were also given for best music, best effect and best marching. Thousands of family members and fans streamed into Ford Field throughout the day to cheer on their school and watch some of the best marching in Michigan.
