• Oak Park Schools identifies teacher as Uber driver killed in crash (detroitnews.com) — Oak Park residents are mourning math teacher Dwayne Harvey, who was killed while driving for Uber in a Sept. 17 crash at Eight Mile and Coolidge, where police say another driver was intoxicated. Oak Park Schools are honoring him with a purple tribute Friday and offering counseling to students and staff as they process the loss of a beloved educator.
   

• Man arrested for allegedly threatening to burn down Monroe church (13abc.com) — An Oak Park man, 29, was arrested after Monroe police say he admitted threatening to burn down St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe County. He's being held in the county jail on intimidation and disorderly conduct charges, with prosecutors now reviewing the case, a development Oak Park residents may want to follow as it proceeds.
