Here's what's happening in and around Oakland Township this week.

There is a lot going on this week. Here are some highlights:

  1. Weather: There is a 90 percent chance of rain showers before noon Monday, according to the National Weather Service. A high near 49 degrees is expected, dipping to 26 degrees at night, with scattered snow showers possible. Highs for the week are forecasted in the mid- to high 30s, with lows in the mid-20s. Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Tuesday and Thursday, with the sun peeking out Wednesday and Friday.
  2. Three Township meetings: The Oakland Township Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at , and a Parks and Recreation Commission meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the . The Oakland Township Library Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday in Township Hall.
  3. Two school board meetings: The Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the district's administration building, and the Lake Orion Community Schools Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at that district's administration building.
  4. : The Friends of the used book sale kicks off Wednesday with a members-only preview sale from 5:30-8 p.m. The sale will continue for the public from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday.
